Lortab Side Effects
Side effects that may go away during treatment, include dizziness,
drowsiness, lightheadedness, constipation, nausea, or vomiting.
Lortab Precautions
If you have had a sever allergic reaction to codeine, hydrocodone,
dihydrocodeine, or oxycodone (such as Tylox, Tylenol with Codeine, Hydrocodone),
contact your doctor or pharmacist before taking Hydrocodone. A severe
allergic reaction includes a severe rash, hives, breathing difficulties,
or dizziness. If you have a question about whether you are allergic
to Hydrocodone or if a certain medicine contains codeine, hydrocodone,
dihydrocodeine, or oxycodone, contact your doctor or pharmacist.
FOR WOMEN: IF YOU PLAN ON BECOMING PREGNANT, discuss
with your doctor the benefits and risks of using Hydrocodone during
pregnancy. IT IS UNKNOWN IF Hydrocodone IS EXCRETED in breast milk.
IF YOU ARE OR WILL BE BREAST-FEEDING while you are using Hydrocodone,
check with your doctor or pharmacist to discuss the risks to your baby.
Lortab Drug Interactions
Do not take acetaminophen and hydrocodone if you have taken a monoamine
oxidase inhibitor (MAOI) such as isocarboxazid (Marplan), phenelzine
(Nardil), or tranylcypromine (Parnate) in the last 14 days. Dangerous
side effects could result.
Lortab Missed Dose
Take the missed dose as soon as you remember. Do not take a double dose
of this medication. Wait the prescribed amount of time before taking
your next dose.
Lortab Storage
Store Lortab at room temperature away from moisture and heat. Keep this and
all medications out of the reach of children.
Lortab Notes
Avoid alcohol while taking acetaminophen and hydrocodone. Alcohol will
greatly increase the drowsiness and dizziness caused by acetaminophen
and hydrocodone and could be dangerous. Also, acetaminophen can damage
your liver if you drink three or more alcoholic beverages a day. Avoid
sleeping pills, tranquilizers, sedatives, and antihistamines except
under the supervision of your doctor. These medications also may cause
dangerous sedation.
